EASTERN WRESTLING LEAGUE WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
Our EWL Wrestler of the Week for the week ended November 29, 2009, is Matt Moley, who is a senior at Bloomsburg University, and competes for the Huskies at 157 pounds. He's a two-time NCAA All-American from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania.
On November 28, 2009, Mr. Moley led his team to two wins at the Journeymen/Northeast Duals (held in Troy, New York), with an 18-17 victory over Big Ten power Michigan, and a 20-13 win over the EIWA's Columbia University. In Bloomsburg's final dual meet of the day, the Huskies threw a scare into tenth-ranked Central Michigan, finally bowing by a final team score of 23-15. Moley scored a pin (in 3:44) against Michigan, won by major decision (11-1) in his Columbia bout, then racked up a tech fall against his opponent from Central Michigan by 15-0.
Matt Moley tallied 15 team points in the three Bloomsburg dual meets. Moreover, his victory in the Michigan dual meet was the 100th of his college wrestling career.
Congratulations to Matt Moley, our EWL Wrestler of the Week.
Further, the EWL tips its headgear to Lock Haven University grapplers Nick Hyatt and Dan Craig. On November 28, 2009, both won titles at the Mat-Town Open, with Mr. Hyatt winning at 125 pounds and Mr. Craig grabbling the crown at 285 pounds. Good job guys!
