EASTERN WRESTLING LEAGUE WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
Our EWL Wrestler of the Week for the week ended November 22, 2009, is Tyler Nauman, who is a sophomore at the University of Pittsburgh, and competes for the Panthers at 141 pounds. He's from Middletown, Pennsylvania.
On November 22, 2009, Mr. Nauman led his team to three wins at the Sprawl & Brawl dual meet event in New York State, with Pittsburgh defeating nationally ranked Illinois 18-15, shutting out Davidson 49-0, and beating the Rider Broncs 30-9. Nauman, who is undefeated this season at 11-0, scored two first-period pins, and tallied a tech fall (16-0) over nationally ranked Ryan Prater of Illinois.
Congratulations to Tyler Nauman, our EWL Wrestler of the Week.
Further, the EWL tips its headgear to Matt Moley, who wrestles at 157 pounds for Bloomsburg University. Mr. Moley had the honor of being selected to compete in the NWCA All-Star Classic, held November 22, 2009, at California State Fullerton. Mr. Moley wrestled well, but lost by decision to Nebraska's Jordan Burroughs, the defending NCAA champion at that weight class. Thank you Matt Moley for representing Bloomsburg University and our Eastern Wrestling League in the NWCA show-case event.
