EASTERN WRESTLING LEAGUE WRESTLER OF THE WEEK
The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended November 30, 2008, is Matt Moley. Moley, a junior at Bloomsburg University, is nationally ranked at 157 pounds, and is from Phoenixville, Pennsylvania. Moley is a two-time NCAA qualifier, who placed 8th in the 2008 NCAA Tournament.
On Saturday, November 29, 2008, the Bloomsburg Huskies competed in the Journeymen/Brute Northeast Duals in upstate New York. The Huskies went 1-2 (beating UNCG, but losing to ODU and Iowa), but Mr. Moley soldiered through the long day undefeated. In his first match Moley majored Andrew Saunders of UNCG 9-0 and in the second bout bested Kaylen Baxter of ODU by a score of 6-0. In his final match of the event Moley downed Iowa's Matt Ballweg 5-1. Both Baxter and Ballweg currently are nationally ranked by WrestlingReport.com, Baxter at 29th in the nation and Ballweg at 31st.
