Edinboro University's Deonte Penn

  The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended February 12, 2006, is Deonte Penn, who wrestles 165 pounds for Edinboro University.  Mr. Penn is a junior from Solon, Ohio.  This past weekend Penn lead the undefeated (10-0), top 20-ranked Fighting Scots to two more dual-meet victories.

  On February 9 Edinboro beat EWL rival Cleveland State 29-6, in Cleveland, and on February 10 defeated another EWL team, Bloomsburg University, at home by a score of 30-9.  Penn racked up a 10-2 major decision against Cleveland State and recorded a first-period pin in the Bloomsburg bout.  Deonte, who won the 2006 PSAC title, now sports a record of 24-9 for the season.
