Bloomsburg University's Brad Forbes.
The Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week for the week ended February 5, 2006, is Bloomsburg University's Brad Forbes. Forbes, an exercise science major, is a senior from Downingtown, Pennsylvania. On January 28, Mr. Forbes won the PSAC championship at 141 pounds, and helped lead the Huskies to a second-place team finish.
This week, for an encore, Brad won two bouts in Bloomsburg dual-meet wins over EWL rivals Clarion (on 2/3/06) and Cleveland State (2/5/06). Each season the EWL crowns an intra-league dual-meet champion, and the two Bloomsburg wins give the Huskies a 3-1 EWL dual-meet record this season and put them in the thick of the team race. Good job Brad Forbes and the Huskies!
One of Brad Forbes' biggest fans is Bloomsburg head coach John
Stutzman. Stutzman points out that Brad is a team player who works hard,
does everything right, and leads by example.
The EWL also tips its headgear to the University of Pittsburgh's Matt Kocher and Keith Gavin, both of whom won individual titles at the Kent State Open tournament on February 4, 2006. Mr. Kocher took first place at 157 pounds and Mr. Gavin grabbed the crown at 174. Kocher and Gavin are redshirting this season.
Congratulations to Brad Forbes, our Eastern Wrestling League Wrestler of the Week, and also to our two Kent State Open champs, Matt Kocher and Keith Gavin.
