Hofstra 26 Lock Haven 6

LOCK HAVEN, Pa. – The Lock Haven University wrestling team (5-10) dropped a non-conference dual tonight to visiting Hofstra University (10-4-1) 26-6.

The Bald Eagles two wins came from Seth Creasy (Mercer, Pa./Mercer) and Harry Turner (Howell, N.J./Howell)

The Bald Eagles lost the first four bouts of the night, but Creasy snapped the Pride win streak, coming up huge at 157.

He earned a hard-fought 4-2 win over Hofstra’s Tyler Banks.

After a scoreless first period, Creasy opened the second with a flurry of action. He earned a quick escape and then added a takedown to go up 3-0. Banks countered with an escape to close out second-period scoring.

Creasy dominated on top in the third racking up 1:09 of riding time before Banks earned an escape late in the match.

Turner downed Paul Snyder 5-3 thanks to a takedown with just 12 seconds left in the match, much to the delight of home crowd.

After Creasy’s win at 157, Hofstra posted back-to-back major decisions as the Pride picked up their third straight win over Lock Haven.

On the Saturday (Feb. 12) the Bald Eagles will host No. 20 Illinois at 7:30 p.m.

Following the Saturday match with the Fighting Illini, the Bald Eagles only have a pair of EWL duals to close out the regular season. On Friday, Feb. 18 at 7 p.m. LHU travels to local-rival Bloomsburg and LHU closes out the regular season with a home dual against Clarion on Sunday, Feb. 20 (3 p.m.). The EWL Championships are set for Sunday, March 6 at Bloom.
